I’ve been honored to have photographed Tristan from the time he was just a few weeks old until now. He’s seen me for newborn photos, his 6-month/Christmas images (which included his gorgeous mommy and daddy) and now his 1-year cake smash!

Tristan is one of the happiest babies I have ever met—he is ALL smiles. He LOVED the balloons that we had on the set. (I think he even liked them just a bit more than his cake . . . until he had a taste, of course!) His cake was made by my favorite baker on the island, HI Sweet Cupcake. Her cakes are incredible!

Like I said, Tristan was a little more interested in the balloons than the cake, and he did not seem to be the biggest fan of smashing, so we broke open the back instead. We gave him a spoon and let him go for it! That was when he decided he liked the cake. 🙂 But toward the end of the session, I think he started to get a little worried that we were never going to clean the mess off of his hands, and the tears started in. Luckily, Mom didn’t mind a few “It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to” photos!

Thank you, Tristan, Mom, and Dad, for allowing me to be a part of your lives this last year. You have been so wonderful to work with—and I wish you continued happiness on your next new adventure! Aloha!
