One of my favorite things to do as a photographer is capture the unpredictability of a baby’s first ever cake smash. You never know how they’re going to react!

With this little princess in particular, we got a whole range of reactions. At first, little Temperance was slow to warm up to the cake and camera. But Mom came armed with an adorable tutu outfit and a rosette-designed little smash cake, and she was determined for this to be a grand celebration.

After a while, Temperance dove right into the cake and took charge of the smash session, and she had a blast getting sticky and satisfying her curiosity about the little cake in front of her!

Mom, thanks so much for bringing little Temperance for her first birthday. I’m glad that you and Temperance both had a great time and hope to see you again as you continue to have adventures together!
