I was so honored to be asked to take the maternity session photos for the L family to celebrate their upcoming baby boy.

While Brittany and I were walking out to the beach on a beautiful evening for our session, she told me that it was a dream come true to be taking maternity photos. She had lost several pregnancies in the last few years, which left her hopeless and devastated—but now, to be carrying a healthy baby boy was beyond her wildest dreams. These maternity shoots were something she had always wanted, and I knew that it was so important to her to capture that miracle.

Besides, Brittany is such a beautiful mommy-to-be that it was easy to have a good time with her and capture gorgeous shots. We started with a simple blue dress, but we added a rainbow band—since, after all, this is their very special rainbow baby. Brittany also had a stunning maternity gown with a haku for a headpiece, which matched the golden sunlight around us perfectly and truly showed off her beauty.
