Introducing Baby Jocelyn! I was particularly excited for this cutie pie to come to me, because this family is near and dear to my heart. Their story is precious to me.

I was able to photograph newborn photos of their oldest son, and then did a family session with them before Dad was sent out on deployment. Little did Mom know… but she was pregnant at the time of the deployment shoot. She found out she was expecting after Dad had been gone for a few short weeks, and her due date was just a few days before Dad was scheduled to come home!

Boy, she was on edge, hoping that little Jocelyn would stay in until her dad could be there to meet her. Luckily, Jocelyn waited just long enough that Dad was able to be there for the birth, as well as for her newborn session. It was so fun to have him around and to see the proud look on his face when he looked down at his new baby girl.

Of course, Jocelyn’s new big brother wanted to come to be part of pictures with his baby sister as well. He was such a sweetheart trying to help take care of her. I love when I get such tender siblings in my studio for sessions like this!

Dad brought his military uniform to use as a prop for the session, and Mom brought some fresh flowers as well. What a whole new world using fresh flowers is! The smell, the colors, the tranquility it brings to the session—I loved it all.

Osten family, I am so thankful that you trusted me again to handle your precious family memories! I can’t wait to watch the kids grow, and I hope that you will treasure these images for years to come.
